Yahoo recently announced its partnership with Yext, a digital location management company. Yext provides a centralized system for updating business listings. Business owners can now sync their information with Yext rather than updating individual online listings.
From now on all Yahoo Local Basic Listings can be managed through Yext. While Yext will continue to manage free basic listings, it also offers an upgrade to PowerListings. The PowerListings upgrade allows owners to centrally update over 50 top business listings sites, including Yelp, Bing, Foursquare and Facebook.
Listing management is essential to growing and maintaining a business. There are hundreds of local business directories on the web, and ensuring each listing’s accuracy can be painstaking work. Services like Yext make it easy to maintain correct business information across the web.
I-Piece Websites specializes in online reputation management, including business listing updates. Contact us for online business consulting as well as more information about managing your online business listings.
If you’re already a Yahoo Local Basic Listing customer, you probably received the email below. Be sure to verify your business information and create a new account and password with Yext. Once the transition has taken place, please call I-Piece Websites with any help you may need in verifying your business information.
Yahoo’s latest email announcing its partnership with Yext:
Dear Yahoo Local Basic Listing Customer,
Last month, Yahoo announced that we have partnered with Yext to manage your Local Basic Listing moving forward. Some of the benefits you can expect to see from this partnership include an updated dashboard to manage your listing and more options to publish your listing across multiple publisher sites.
Yext will be reaching out to you in the next few weeks via email when your dashboard is available; you do not need to do anything at this time. In order to make your transition seamless, once your dashboard is ready, you will need to verify your business information and create a new account and password with Yext. If you do not set up your new Yext account within 30 days of notification from Yext, your listing may be changed to an unclaimed status. Note that you can always return at a later date to claim your listing again.
If you have an existing edit to your Local Basic Listing that has not yet been approved by Yahoo, it will be reviewed by Yext and submitted to Yahoo if approved.
If you would like to immediately begin managing your data on over 50 sites including Yahoo, upgrade to a Yext PowerListings Package here: http://www.yext.com/pl/yahoo-claims/index.html.
